Senior Electrochemist – Advanced Materials and Energy Storage
Gnanomat is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Electrochemist to join its growing R&D team and contribute to the development of next-generation energy storage technologies based on advanced electrode materials.
This position offers the opportunity to play a key technical role in the design, development and validation of innovative supercapacitor and pseudocapacitor devices, from early material definition through to cell-level validation and support for industrialisation.
The role
As Senior Electrochemist, you will be a core technical contributor to Gnanomat’s energy-storage programmes. You will lead and support the design of advanced electrodes and materials, define electrode architectures and performance optimisation strategies, and actively participate in the development and validation of new device generations.
You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams in materials science, process engineering and device development, within both internal and collaborative international R&D projects.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the design and optimisation of electrodes for advanced energy-storage devices.
- Develop and perform electrochemical characterisation of advanced functional materials.
- Define electrode architectures and performance-enhancement strategies.
- Analyse, interpret and critically assess electrochemical performance data.
- Contribute to the development, testing and validation of new generations of supercapacitor and pseudocapacitor devices.
- Provide technical input and support to scale-up and industrialisation activities.
- Contribute to technical documentation and project deliverables in international collaborative projects.
Candidate profile
- PhD in Electrochemistry, Chemistry or Materials Science.
- Senior professional profile with demonstrated experience in the energy-storage sector.
- Proven and solid background in electrode design and development.
- Strong experience working with advanced materials, preferably carbon-based and/or pseudocapacitive materials.
- Previous experience in an industrial, pre-industrial or applied technology development environment.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
Desirable experience
- Direct hands-on experience with supercapacitor and/or pseudocapacitor technologies.
- Experience in the development and validation of cells and modules.
